A Message of Green Hope — Abandoning the traditional doomsday style of reporting that is usually associated with environmental topics, this production sets out with the refreshing goal to produce educational and moving messages of hope and inspiration. These messages showcase the human race’s incredible ability to adapt, and engineer groundbreaking solutions over what may seem as some of the most insurmountable environmental crisis’s. This series will address a wide breadth of environmental and climate challenges that as a people we face today. Overcome will show us how through ingenuity, adversity and determination key ‘environmental champions’ are selflessly engineering new technology and social practices to overcome these trials and make our world a better place

Serious Story Telling — Dispatch will provide an educated look at the severity of the challenges these environments face and the real case studies of breakthrough steps in engineering and social initiatives that are being taken to offset these problems.

Groundbreaking Imagery — This series provides not only an intimate first person documentary glimpse at the fieldwork of our ‘environmental champions’ but an awe-inspiring look at the beauty and grandeur of these environments. Pushing the envelope of nature photography production, Dispatch will use techniques seldom seen in these environments such as that of cable-cam, crane, and aerial mounts. This level of commitment to the series’ production value will ensure that the images captured will paint a jaw-dropping picture, one that is guaranteed to challenge any HD Television.

The Story Arc

In order to provide the audience with a true dramatic and entertaining message each episode will be broken down into a four-part story arc; the introduction, the peril, the solution and finally the future — a series of transitions that are designed to inspire and resonate with the viewer.

Part One: The Introduction

With a combination of powerful cinematic imagery and enlightening editorial voice over, the episode will initially introduce the audience to the featured environment (either remote or in their backyard). Viewers will be invited to see the integral contribution this facet of nature plays in the entire life cycle of the globe — this dramatic blend of photography and passionate story telling will undoubtedly develop a strong bond between profiled environment and viewer.

Part Two: The Peril

Mass deforestation, drought, species extinction are in extreme contrast to the beauty of the episodes first chapter. Dispatch will now introduce the peril these profiled environment face. In the tradition of award winning conflict reporting the viewer will get a frontline account of these challenged environments and the virtually hopeless situation they are in. The viewers will be transported to the side lines of such environmental hot spots as the mega-fires of Borneo, which have been started by loggers using renegade slash and burn practices. After seeing such overwhelming images of these challenged environments the viewer will be pushed to almost a sense of hopelessness wondering what kind of solution could man come up with to overcome this devastation?

Part Three: The Solution

From all walks of life individuals and communities are taking extraordinary initiatives to change this path that we are on. In this chapter This next chapter of the episode will provide viewers with a layman’s translation of these champion’s selfless efforts and achievements to combat what many others have seen as a lost cause.  We will learn how Willie Smits’ motivated y the extensive deforestation in Borneo, has managed to replicate the lungs of a rainforest and coincidentally has spawned a new biofuel production industry. Viewers will be on hand to witness candid conversations with those involved in these projects showcasing not only the dynamics of these engineering and cultural initiatives but more importantly the passion of those who have set these revolutions in motion.  Dispatch will seek out the ‘environmental champions’ messages of hope and provide all of those watching with the motivation to follow in their footsteps and take positive action to help reshape our world.

Part Four: The Future

This final element of the show will provide an inspirational recap of the results of the profiled micro-revolutions, showcasing their positive effects to date and what might come to pass if we stay on track with these environmental initiatives.     Our ‘environmental champions’ will also be given the opportunity to speak directly to the audience and provide them with a message that both motivates and challenges them to follow in their footsteps and take positive action to help reshape our world.
